Climbing team

The team will have a maximum size of three guides and nine members.  One guide is assigned as expedition leader and all guides will have experience above 8000m.  The expedition leader will determine the summit attempt teams of 3 or 4 people.  The guiding team will establish the campsites and establish the route fixing ropes where necessary.

Cheryl and Nikki will be two of the nine team members on the expedition.  Other team members may be from any walk of life and from any country. 

Sherpas and site staff

A medical doctor, base camp manager and Sherpa will staff the base camp.  There is a kitchen crew of between 7 to 10 people. A team of between six and twelve climbing Sherpas will carry loads and support the summit climb. There is generally a ratio of at one sherpa per team member or guide on summit day.

There will be an expedition Sirdar, the Sherpa who manages all the other Sherpas in the expedition. The Sirdar is usually the most experienced and can speak fluent English.

Sherpa cooks will occupy Camp for the duration of the expedition. Their role is to provide meals and also look after camp 2 in bad weather.
